Project Details

Mission

This project started with an investigation of the best solution for the first floor, renovate the outdated meeting rooms or built as much rooms as possible on this floor. The meeting rooms were completely demolished and 8 Privilege rooms were created which are all different from size and lay-out. Second mission was to transform the ground floor towards a high-end Mercure hotel implementing all the latest brand standards, known as; open reception desk, open workspace, well equipped meeting rooms, a transparent restaurant with buffet and a nice bar.

This project was executed from the position of employee within the Accor Netherlands team.

The Project

First phase was renovating the 8 privilege rooms on the first floor. Special challenge was to install the sewerage system above the ceiling of the restaurant and reception area while these areas remained open. During this first stage the fitness on the 8th floor was also renovated into a small but high-end fitness/wellness area.

The second stage was renovating the total ground floor. In a period of only three months the hotel remained open and the ground floor functions were relocated in an event tent next to the hotel. The newest brand items were implemented such as an open reception desk followed by an open workspace for the operations, new business meeting points and a new bar with a wine cabinet.
