Sofitel So Ipanema

Mission

To select the necessary consultants, start-up the design process and prepare the renovation around the main events in Rio de Janeiro (World Cup, Carnival, and Olympic Games 2016). The building however was fully outdated and a thorough Due Diligence was needed to reduce risks and prepare the good budget as well as the scope of work. Due to the intensive renovation needed the actual execution of work has been postponed until after the World Cup 2014.

The Hotel

Sofitel acquired the building to be from an inventory of another Hotel chain. Its perfect location at the Ipanema Beach supports the decision to make it Americas first Sofitel So. The new design includes 190 rooms and 25 suites which need to receive a full renovation.

Public Areas

As the hotel has a superb view on its surroundings and the Ipanema beach from the top floor a new concept F&B has been developed to optimize its use including a top roof pool. An All Day Dining Restaurant on the 2nd floor and a unique Lounge in the main entrance, all with a high end design will make this hotel a one of a kind.

In the new design a So Fit and Massage will be located on one of the floors and there will be a total of 450 square meter on meeting facility consisting 5 meeting rooms including a Board room.
